Venezia Giulia Bianco “Oslavje Fuori dal Tempo” Radikon 2006

Triple A

The grapes, after being de-stemmed, are fermented spontaneously in oak vats and in contact with the skins. After the alcoholic fermentation, the same vats are filled and closed, so that the must remains in contact with the skins for a further 35 days. Subsequently, the aging is carried out in large oak barrels for about three years. The Venezia Giulia Bianco IGT “Oslavje Fuori dal Tempo”, by Radikon, is left to be refined in bottles for nine long years. There’s nothing more to add: it’s really a wine out of time; it is an absolute wine.

A fundamental name for the whole movement of Italian natural wine, that of Stanko Radikon is a unique path that goes through most of the recent history of the Collio. Oslavia, not far from Gorizia: it is here that everything changes in what has been, and continues to be, a sort of great laboratory dedicated to the varieties of the area and their methods of winemaking. Starting in 1995, Stanko began using large conical-shaped vats where they began to carry out long macerations of white grapes, in memory of the technique, used by farmers of the past to produce wines that could resist oxidation. The wines of Stanko , often known as “orange wines”, are children of a radical approach, both in the vineyard and in the cellar: spontaneous fermentation, no technicality and no addition of sulfur dioxide, even in bottling; then years and years of aging in cask, and as many years of aging in glass that will make its wines unique in their kind.

Triple A

“A” as Agricoltori (Farmers) – only those who cultivate the right vineyard can ‘establish a relationship between man and vine, and get a healthy and ripe grapes exclusively with natural agronomic interventions
“A” as Artigiani (Artisans) – we need “craft” methods and skills to implement a winemaking and winemaking process that does not change the original structure of the grapes, and does not alter that of the wine
“A” as Artisti (Artists) – only the “artistic” sensibility of a producer, respectful of his work and his ideas, can give life to a great wine where the characters of the territory and of the vine are found
