Valtellina Superiore Inferno “Fiamme Antiche” Arpepe DOCG 2012

40

Ar.Pe.Pe. is one of the Italian wineries that most identifies and blends with its territory. The Inferno “Fiamme Antiche” by Ar.Pe.Pe. is a prestigious wine that comes from vines that are over 50 years old and which sink their roots into poor soils, mainly composed of flaked granitic rock. After the harvest, the grapes are left to macerate in chestnut vats for 12 days before the must is transferred into oak barrels where they age for 2 years. The color, garnet red with orange reflections, immediately suggests that we are facing a great mountain, Nebbiolo.
