This Friuli Venezia Giulia rosso IGT “Scodovacca” from the Denis Montanar winery is produced with Refosco grapes from the red peduncle. Montanar uses the highest quality grapes as is evident in the very low yield of the vineyard, about 30 quintals per hectare. The Refosco by Denis Montanar is macerated and fermented spontaneously in open vats of wood for 25 days, then left to refine on the fine lees in oak tonneau for 24 months. An important product, this wine reflects the traditions of this area; it will amaze you.

Description

The Montanar Denis farm is located in Udine in the locality of Borc Dodòn. A fourth generation farmer, Denis began his viticulture in 1989 when he rented the vineyards belonging to his grandfather. Over the years, the winery acquired multiple hectares of land and in 1995 the Borc Dodòn project, named for its location, was born. The management of the vineyards has been certified organic since 1996 and Denis has joined the protocol of the “Renaissance du Terroir”. All of the wines ferment spontaneously, without the addition of selected yeasts, and do not undergo any clarification.
