This Friuli Venezia GIulia rosso IGT “Scodovacca” from the Denis Montanar winery is produced with Refosco grapes from the red peduncle in purity. One notices immediately how Montanar points to the highest quality by noticing the very low yield of the vineyard; about 30 quintals per hectare. The Refosco by Denis Montanar is macerated and fermented spontaneously in open vats of wood for 25 days, then left to refine on the fine lees in oak tonneau for 24 months. An important product, reflects the traditions of this wine area; it will amaze you.

The Montanar Denis farm is located in Udine, in the locality of Borc Dodòn. Farmers at the fourth generation, Denis began to take care of viticulture in 1989, when he rented the vineyards belonging to his grandfather. Over the years it then acquired hectares of land and in 1995 the Borc Dodòn project was born, from the homonymous locality in which they are located. The management of the vineyards is certified organic since 1996; moreover Denis has joined the protocol of the “Renaissance du Terroir”. All wines ferment spontaneously, without the addition of selected yeasts and do not undergo any clarification.
