Nocchianello Nero is an ancient vine from the Pitigliano and Sorano area in south Tuscany that has almost completely disappeared, and thanks to the perseverance of some producers it has been slowly reintroduced in these lands. For a few years now included in the national register of vine varieties, this grape is a real enological novelty, produced only by very few wineries such as Sassotondo. The Toscana Rosso IGT “Monte Rosso” 2019 is produced with this precious grape vinified in purity and aged in wood for 12 months. A wine that bears witness to the ancient winemaking tradition of Pitigliano, mineral like its territory and full of spices.
